Leo (♌︎; Ancient Greek: Λέων, romanized: Léōn, Latin for "lion") is the fifth sign of the zodiac. It corresponds to the constellation Leo and comes after Cancer and before Virgo. The traditional Western zodiac associates Leo with the period between about July 23 and August 22,[2] and the sign spans the 120th to 150th degree of celestial longitude.

Virgo (♍︎; Ancient Greek: Παρθένος, romanized: Parthénos; Latin for "virgin" or "maiden") is the sixth astrological sign in the zodiac. It spans the 150–180th degree of the zodiac. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun transits this area between August 23 and September 22 on average.[2] Depending on the system of astrology, individuals born during these dates may be called Virgos or Virgoans.[3]

Libra is the cardinal modality of the three air signs, the others being Gemini and Aquarius.[citation needed] Libra is symbolized by the scales and is associated with the Roman deity Iustitia. According to the writer Manilius, Roman judges are born under the sign of Libra.[7][page needed]

Scorpio (♏︎; Ancient Greek: Σκορπιός, romanized: Skorpiós, Latin for "scorpion") is the eighth astrological sign in the zodiac, originating from the constellation of Scorpius. It spans 210–240° ecliptic longitude. Under the tropical zodiac (most commonly used in Western astrology), the Sun transits this sign on average from October 23 to November 21.[2] Depending on which zodiac system one uses, someone born under the influence of Scorpio may be called a Scorpio or Scorpionic.[2]

Sagittarius (♐︎; Ancient Greek: Τοξότης, romanized: Toxótēs, Latin for "archer") is the ninth astrological sign, which is associated with the constellation Sagittarius and spans 240–270th degrees of the zodiac. Under the tropical zodiac, the sun transits this sign between approximately November 22 and December 21.[2] Greek mythology associates Sagittarius with the centaur Chiron, who mentored Achilles, a Greek hero of the Trojan War, in archery.[3]

Capricorn (♑︎; Ancient Greek: Αιγόκερως, romanized: Aigókerōs, Latin for "horned goat") is the tenth astrological sign in the zodiac out of twelve total zodiac signs, originating from the constellation of Capricornus, the goat.[2] It spans the 270–300th degree of the zodiac, corresponding to celestial longitude. Under the tropical zodiac, the sun transits this area from around December 22 to January 19.[2] Capricorn is one of the three earth signs, alongside Virgo and Taurus,[3] a negative sign,[4][5] and one of the four cardinal signs. Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn and its opposite sign is Cancer.[6]

Aquarius (♒︎; Greek: Ὑδροχόος, romanized: Hydrokhóos, Latin for "water-bearer") is the eleventh astrological sign in the zodiac, originating from the constellation Aquarius. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun is in the Aquarius sign between about January 20 and February 18.[2] Aquarius is one of the three air signs, alongside Gemini and Libra. The ruling planets of Aquarius are Saturn (in traditional astrology alongside Capricorn), and Uranus (in modern astrology). It is a fixed air sign. The opposite sign of Aquarius is Leo.

According to some tropical astrologers, the current astrological age is the Age of Pisces,[5] while others maintain that currently it is the Age of Aquarius.
