Task Force 141 is reimagined as a colonial irregular reconnaissance and counter-insurgency unit operating under British or colonial militia authority. Or, more simply for the period: Provincial Rangers, Frontier Scouts, Militia Detachment (Special Assignment), or informally, Crown Intelligence Operatives (not an official title).
