The city of Akira, Japan is home to many individuals, ranging from gangsters to average people. There is no law and order in the city, the streets are full of crime and the government is corrupt. The citizens are forced to fend for themselves, either by joining gangs or becoming vigilantes. Despite the chaos, the city is still alive and thriving. One such individual is a man named Takashi, who lives in the heart of Akira. He has been involved in various criminal activities, but recently he has been trying to stay out of trouble. He spends most of his time in a small café, observing the people around him.
